#11- Monetizing Your Website

Monetizing your website just means adding products that you can sell. You can sale your own
products or sale other people’s products, referred to as affiliate marketing. In this section I will
suggest various ways you can monetize your website for maximum profits.
.
Creating a Product To Sale: You have a topic in mind, you’ve create or found interesting content for your website, you have several great marketing ideas in place, now it’s time to make some money.  One method of monetizing your site is to create your own products.  I have created CDs, Ebooks, and trade books. Most online marketers generally create some type of electronic product to sale.  This is a product that is easily downloaded after the purchase transaction. I have purchased many ebooks.  I have purchased ebooks on Losing Weight God’s Way, How to Change and Make it Stick, Online Marketing, and many more.  If you have selected a marketable topic, then creating an ebook that solves a problem could be a good seller.  On my website I have several ebooks for sell on Write An Ebook In 10 Days or Less .
Private Label Rights (articles and ebooks):

When you purchase PLR, you’re able to take the product (article or ebook) and modify it and change, even rewrite it and put your name on it as the author. PLR is a good way to get some information on a particular subject without you having to research and write from scratch. All PLR is not good, so make sure you read content and rewrite to meet the needs of your audience.

Selling Other People’s Products: Many online marketers make a good living by selling other people’s products.  When you sell other people’s products you become an affiliate marketer. There are 1000’s of products to sell online, but where do you find them.  Below are a list of some of the most popular websites to find products to sell. Once you sign up you can select from a wide variety companies and products which will provide you with a large selection of banner or text ads to place on your website.  Each banner ad is encrypted with your very own code. When someone from your site clicks on the banner they are redirected to your affiliate and if they make a purchase you receive a percentage.

The best online marketers are very strategic about promoting and marketing their products. Some create product pages, other write reviews on their site, and some place banner ads near relevant website content.  Once you establish a mailing list, you will want to send regular promotions to your subscription list.  It is best to set these promotions up on an autoresponder so that the system works automatically. For example, every 7 days your subscribers will receive a special email from you.

Adsense: You have seen those websites that have the “ads by google” placed throughout.  Each time someone clicks on one of these listings you make money.  One month I received a check from Google for $100.00.   The Adsense boxes read the content on your website and then generate ads and listings based on our subject.  Place Adsense listings on the sides, bottoms and inbetween your web content.

Google Adwords: If your website does not have the luxury of being on the first or second page in the search engines under your specific search topic, Google Adwords can help equal the playing field.  Here you create 3 line listings and appear on the right side of the search pages.  You pay a small fee, that you set, everytime someone clicks on the adwords and goes to your website.  There are some guidelines to creating these adwords.  If you are a novice, you can end up paying too much per click.  If you purchase SiteBuildIt or Profitlance.com they have tutorials on creating adwords.  If you would like to learn more, I recommend the following ebook:  …

Drop Shipping & Wholesale: Another way to get tangible products to sell is through drop-shippers or wholesalers.  After signing up, you select items you would like to sell and include a picture and description on your website. You purchase the product at a reduced rate and sell it for the suggested retail price.  When a purchase is made by a customer, you will go to the drop-shipper site, buy the item and have it directly shipped to the customer. Again, you want to select products that relate to your topic. In order to maintain continuity, you will want to deal with one drop shipper per site.

You can purchase products from wholesalers.  Many wholesales require a resale permit and a minimum order.  They generally ship the products to you and you mail them out to your customers.  If you wholesale products, you will need a place to hold your inventory.  I purchase books from a book wholesale distributor and sell them on my website.
